Thank you mister scott, God bless you and your family. Mike was always kind to me and in my " Teen Age Waste Land " ( I am in my 50's ) He literally kept me alive. Love you brother. Our lose Heavens gain.

Not a whole lot I can add to what everyone has already said. I've worked with Mike in the past, but my memory of him is as a listener. I've listened to him since day one, and I'll really miss him. My absolute favorite line of all time was Fox 102-point-Earnhardt. RIP Mike.

Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for Mike to be with you Lord, so that you may feel the awsome love of his caring heart. He could make that love felt by any person he ever touched, including me. In Jesus name, Amen

I am still reeling and deeply saddened by the news of Mike's passing. Mike and I were Skiing, Drinking, and Working Buddies forever...
        A. J. had originally hired me as "The Voice" of WMFX a long, long, time ago (back when we use to call it FOX 102 point "Earnhardt!") and after she got out of the business I dealt with Mike on a weekly basis...collaborating on Station Promo's, ID'S, Sweepers and the like....Mike never knew a normal work day. He'd call my cell anywhere from 11am to 2 or 3am with a last minute production idea or sweeper he wanted done... and after a few minutes we'd have my studio cranked up and rock' in...Promo's like Group Therapy's Chili Cook Off in Five Points and Block Party ID's and the "Rock' in Columbia for 21 Years" were all collaborations of Mike and myself...Yes, my Brothers and Sisters... We had something that has, as of late, been lacking in the RADIO WORLD...It was called FUN!

An email FOX 102 received (part 2):
Oh, and God help us (and our livers) when we'd meet at Winterplace for a weekend of skiing...(that was always followed by a night of drinking)...We'd both leave that mountain knowing that we were "Brothers In Arms" and on the same page...Ready for the "Air Wars" battle that was to follow in the weeks, months and in our case, years ahead.
          A.J,
My heart goes out to you and the kids...
          To the FOX 102 Staff,
Nice Tribute Page to our fallen comrade on the web site...
          To everyone else,
I feel your pain cause I'm missing him also...So, next time, just before you crack the mic...Look up, say a quick prayer, and remember to have fun...FUN FOR A GREAT GUY NAMED MIKE SCOTT!

Mike and I worked together at Fox from 1990 %u2013 1994. I remember the day when he called me into the production studio to hear this new album by some band called Nirvana. I remember we turned to each other and said %u201CWooo%u2026, so much for hair bands%u201D. Mike and I played golf together, did too many promotions to count together (Hooter Howl to name one), and drank way too many beers together. He and AJ meant the world to me. My prayers go out to AJ and family during this difficult time. There will never be another Mike Scott%u2026

I hope you had the time of your life%u2026%u2026

The road has been so long, far more miles are behind us than in front of us, so, while trying to recall the quintessential "Mike Scott" moment to pass along, I find that there are far too many...yet one beer laced conversation stands out...I remember pounding beers with Mike late, LATE at night in the 80s marvelling at how we had the best jobs in the world and how funny it was that we, as disc jockeys, got paid to sit on our behinds, play music loud and be smartasses...and we'd laugh like loons into the wee morning hours at the thought that we could do this for the rest of our lives. I just always thought that he'd be at it a bit longer. I'm dumbstruck with grief. I am thinking of you and the kids, Andrea. You, too, Beard. A father, husband, son, brother and friend is gone far too soon. Save a seat at the bar for me, Mike.

                An email FOX 102 received:

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
                blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange
a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl,
                year after year,
running over the same old ground. What have we found?
                The same old fears,
                wish you were here.

To Mike's family, and all of you at the FOX,
I would like to start of by expressing my deepest condulances to Mike's family for thier loss. Also, I would like to include his family at the FOX. I heard the most unfortunate news today, and I'm really truely sorry. I'm serving our country right now and won't be able to attend his services, but would like to say to y'all, that Columbia will not be the same when I return home. A piece of Columbia is gone. Though his memories will never leave us, he'll be deeply missed. From all of us here at the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. Don't let any of us ever forget to "THINK PINK." My heart goes out to everyone, and I will see you soon.
                  With most sincere regards,
                  Joe

I met Mike back in 2003 when I started working for Fox 102. He was an all around GREAT guy! He'd help you out however & whenever you needed it. He ALWAYS had fun wherever he went. Mike Scott IS Fox 102. I remember talking Zep with him, & he'd brag how he & Beard got to see 'em live, & I never could! (I'm too young). I have so many memories of Acoustic Live remotes @ Hemingway's, Chili Cookoff, St. Pat's, & it goes on & on. I'll miss you, Mike! We love you. Rest in peace.

                    xoxo,
